A protocol concerning the construction of the Yahyalı Vocational School was signed between the Kayseri Governorate, Erciyes University, and Özkoyuncu Mining on April 4, 2014. This protocol initiated the construction of the Yahyalı Vocational School by Özkoyuncu Mining. At the Erciyes University Senate meeting held on February 16, 2018, a unanimous decision was made to submit a proposal to the Council of Higher Education to establish a vocational school in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri province and offer three programs. At the General Assembly of Higher Education meeting held on March 22, 2018, the proposal was approved, and the establishment of the Yahyalı Vocational School was approved. With the establishment of Kayseri University on May 18, 2018, Yahyalı Vocational School was affiliated with Kayseri University. At the Kayseri University Senate meeting held on March 27, 2019, a decision was made to propose to the Council of Higher Education the admission of 30 students to the Agricultural Products Preservation and Storage Program, which opened on January 9, 2019, within the Yahyalı Vocational School, for the 2019-2020 academic year. On December 16, 2020, the Alternative Energy Resources Technology Program was launched within the Department of Electricity and Energy. The first students were admitted to this program in the 2021-2022 academic year. The first graduates of the Alternative Energy Resources Technology Program began at the end of the 2022-2023 academic year. The Council of Higher Education approved the proposal to open two more programs at Kayseri University Yahyalı Vocational School in 2025. Work continues on the activation of the Electric Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution Program, which was approved to open on 19/03/2025, and the Environmental Health and Environmental Risk Management Technician Program, which was decided to open on 20/06/2025.Our school started education in Yahyalı Vocational School buildings in the 2018-2019 academic year. The name Yahyalı Vocational School was established in Yahyalı with the Senate Decision dated 27/03/2019 and numbered 07. Education has been continuing since 2019 in the new building built in the name of Özkoyuncu, a philanthropist businessmen from Kayseri.
